Discovering Your Potentials and Living The Dream

Ever woke up in the morning and said to yourself, ‘I hate getting up for work’ or ‘I hate this job’?

Ever wondered what life would be like if you had $50 million in your bank account? Would it solve all your problems?

In the next few paragraphs I will brainstorm [not discuss or argue] with you – the reader – about some of the possibilities for achieving that and fulfilling dreams simply by discovering your inner-potentials and confronting your fears that stop you from taking that first step in living your dreams and becoming successful and rich.

Go back in time and think of your dreams and aspirations when you were a child. What were you like when you were a child? When people ask children what they want to “be” when they grow up, you can see how passionate they are when they say they want to be a pilot, a doctor, an astronaut, the richest person on earth, the strongest man/woman on earth, and the list goes on. Now compare that with where you are now? If you are in a different place altogether, what went wrong? What stopped you from making your childhood dreams a reality? Can you say to yourself now that you want to become an astronaut, the strongest person in the world, or the richest person in the world?

Chances are you think it was a ridiculous dream or that you were just a child or that you are too old now or that your friends will laugh at you if you mention it to them. All these factors, these fears, these self-inflicted barriers and excuses are the reasons why most people tend not to achieve their dreams and end up being unhappy with their jobs or with where they are now in their lives. Always remember that you are where you are now because you choose to be there. No one forces you to do anything. And you will always be where you are now as long as you are doing what you are doing.

I have come to understand that one of the best qualities found in successful people is that they hold themselves responsible for their conditions. Their happiness with life, friends, family, attitude, energy, and fortune are a direct result of their actions. Actions they took towards attaining their goals. Your unhappiness, discontent, attitude, lack of energy, laziness, and self-pity is a direct result of your actions, or lack thereof.

To be successful in life you need to think big and dream big. To have a dream and make it come true, you need to have goals. To have goals, you need to be organized. To be organized you may need to change the way you do certain things. Look around you now and see what is stopping you.

Start with your attitude and outlook on life and get started with your journey to success and one of its derivatives – money.
